From March 8th – 12th 2023, after a two-year break from Corona, the International German Badminton Championships for Youth – the YONEX German Junior 2023 – will take place at the Sportforum Berlin. The organizer, the SG EBT Berlin, has set a new record for registrations. By the closing date, over 330 players had registered. On five tournament days, young talents will compete in a total of 385 matches to prove their skills and compete with the best U19 players from 28 countries.

“We are really amazed by the number of registrations. The fact that we can top the participation record from 2020 after 2 years of Corona break is more than pleasing. We are looking forward to another top-class tournament with a great line-up,” says EBT President and Tournament Manager Manfred Kehrberg. “This phenomenal registration result shows the continued enormously high status of the YONEX German Junior in the world. And that of course also pleases the entire organization team and increases the already high anticipation and enthusiasm,” Manfred Kehrberg continues.

Badminton fans can look forward to players from all over the world, especially from the top Asian and European nations such as China, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Denmark, France or England. But also badminton exotics like from Zimbabwe will start in Berlin. The YONEX German Junior 2023 promises an extremely high quality and internationality in the field of participants, which has always been characteristic of this tournament. The competitions will start on Wednesday, March 8th and in the three following tournament days, each starting at 9:00 a.m., the quarterfinalists of all disciplines will be competed. On Saturday, March 10th the round of the last eight will start at 10:00 a.m. and in the course of the day the finalists of the five disciplines will be found out. The finals will start on Sunday, March 12th at 10:00 a.m.
